589,011. Hair-drying apparatus. HIBBERT, H. March 15, 1945, No. 6486. [Class 81 (ii)] In a hair dryer of the kind in which the blowing unit is mounted on a movable base, the base 3 and parts carried thereby, e.g., the motor and fan 8, are enclosed by an air-tight cowling 6 having only air openings 9 near its bottom edge, and filtering material such as cotton wool is packed between the base and vertical rings 12 and a horizontal ring 10 provided with openings 13, 11 through which air is drawn by the fan. In an alternative construction, the filter material is packed between a single ring 12, ring 10, the base and the cowling.
