588,816. Mercury and like switches; electromagnetic switches. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. Oct. 4, 1943, No. 16273. Convention date, Oct. 5, 1942. [Class 38 (v)] Vibration of a chamber 31 causes mercury or conductive balls 36 to move so as to break connection between two electrodes 34, 35, Fig. 4 shows such a device vibrated by a reed 48 which is itself vibrated by an electromagneticallyvibrated reed 46 when A.C. of a suitable frequency flows through a coil 41. When circuit is broken at the device, a short circuit is removed from a relay 52 which operates. In a modification, vibration serves not only to break one circuit but to make another.
