Abstract

588,418. Switch cases. FUKE, F. C. Feb. 16, 1945, No. 4031. [Class 38 (v)] A switch-box for sunk or surface mounted switches, has fixing nuts slidably mounted in arcuate slots for angular adjustment of the cover plate and associated switch. In Fig. 1, the nuts 23, 24 move within slots 21, 22 in an annular frame 16 secured to the switch box 11 by screws 17, 18, the cover plate 28 carrying the switch 29, being held by screws 31, 32, which are long enough to compensate for variations in depth of the switch-box in the wall 13. The nuts 23, 24 have tongues 26, bent over at their ends so as to engage under the longitudinal edges of the slots. In Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), the nuts slide in slots in diametrically opposite lugs and bars, respectively integral with, and screwed to, the box. In Fig. 6, the cylindrical centre portions of nuts 39, 40, project from boxes 45, 46 in the switch 29, through slots in a plate 38 which is secured to the switch-box. The nuts are slidably attached to the plate 38 by washers 51, 52 positioned under circular flanges 43, 44 and rotation of the nuts is prevented by oval flanges 41, 42 which seat in like recesses in the switch.
