Abstract

<PICT:0587787/III/1> A homogenizer comprises a cylindrical casing A and a central stationary shaft D on which are mounted a series of discs which are alternately, B, fixed to the shaft and perforated, and C, loosely mounted and slotted obliquely and radially from the periphery. The discs C are preferably mounted by means of ball or roller bearings C1 on extensions of the hubs of discs B. The perforations of successive fixed discs B and the slots of successive loose discs C are preferably inclined in opposite directions from the shaft axis. A fixed disc E may be provided at the outlet A2 having perforations e closed by balls e1 pressed by springs f held in a fixed disc F so that liquid can pass only above a given pressure. The outer faces of the slots of discs C may be enlarged.
