Abstract
585,928. Mechanical vibrators. MULLARD RADIO VALVE CO., Ltd., and HAYES, C. F. M. March 21, 1944, No. 5290. [Class 80 (iv)] [Also in Group XXIII] A mechanical vibrator for assisting feeds through hoppers, sieves, screens and the like, has a body 1 formed with an enclosed loopshaped track 3 in which an obturating weight 5 is free to move lengthwise of the track. Gas under pressure is admitted through inlet 6, 7, to drive the weight round the track and produce vibrations due to the inertia of the weight. After traversing the greater part of the track the gas is exhausted through slot 8. In a modification, more particularly applied to a vibrating tool, a pear-shaped track is used. U.S.A. Specification 1,829,441 is referred to.
