Abstract

585,642. Brackets. YOUNIE, J. Nov. 15, 1944, No. 22525. [Class 52 (v)] [Also in Group XXV] A two-part fastening comprises a holder 7, attached to an article 8 to be retained, the holder having spring teeth or pawls which slide over ratchet teeth '4 in a mounting 1 attached to a door 2, or the like. The holder is entered into one end of the mounting and can only be removed by passing the holder out of the other end when a barrier such as a plate 11 is removed when the door is opened. The removal end of the mounting may be blocked by a door-step and the holder may have a chain attached to secure a bicycle, perambulator or the like, until the door is opened clear of the step. Fig. 11 shows a box 15, with a lid 16, each having channel members 17 containing pawls which co-act with ratchet teeth in a slider 1. Fig. 12 shows a band clip 23 which may be expanded or contracted by relative motion of pawls 10 along the ratchet teeth. The slider 1 may be made of metal or plastic material.
