Abstract

In a process for regenerating ammoniacal liquor containing suspended iron ammonium ferrocyanide used for removing hydrogen sulphide, ammonia and cyanogen compounds from gases, sulphur is obtained by exposing the liquor to oxygen-containing gas while falling under gravity, e.g., as a spray or over packing. The liquor is allowed to stand, e.g., up to 15 minutes to allow sulphur to settle before return to the absorption stage. Specification 407,040, [Group XII], is referred to.
