[Class 42 (i)] An article such as a plate, mat or the like of asbestos, cardboard or other friable material has an edge or each edge protected by a binding in the form of a doubled strip of sheet material such as metal in which are punched spaced depressions. The punchings in one face of the metal strip are offset to those in the other face, so that the asbestos, cardboard or like therebetween is corrugated or of wave-like formation. The punchings may be arranged to form letters or figures for advertising and other purposes.
