Abstract

584,551. Lamp supports. JACOBS, H. Sept. 26, 1944, No. 18369. [Class 75 (iii)] [Also in Group XIV] Supporting means for a group of lamp reflectors comprises an upright 1 mounted on feet 2 a cross rail 4 mounted on the upright so as to be adjustable in a vertical plane, and carriers 14 for the lamp reflectors 15 mounted on the cross rail by means of attaching units which embrace the cross rail and are adapted to be clamped thereto. The cross rail 4 is mounted at its midpoint on the upper end of the upright 1 by a screw 6 which passes through the upright 1 and through the hole 5 drilled in the cross rail 4. Circular spacing blocks 8, 9 with central openings 10, 11 for the passage of the screw 6 are interposed between the rail 4 and upright 1 which they are channelled to fit. In the construction shown a complementary block 8<1> is interposed between the rail 4 and the clamping lever 7 and another 9<1> screw-threaded at 11' engages the screw 6. The blocks 8<1>, 9' may be dispensed with in which case the screw 6 engages the upright 1 and the lever 7 is replaced by a nut. Angular adjustment between the plain bearing faces of the blocks 8, 9 is possible when the lever 7 is loosened. Since the upright 1 is telescopic, vertical and horizontal adjustment of the rail 4 is possible, a clamping screw 3 being provided. The carriers 14 of the lamp reflectors 15 are connected by universal joints to the supporting blocks 19 which are adjustable along and around the rail 4. Clamping means are again provided. Rubber caps 23 may be slipped on the ends and the rail 4 and an electric junction box 24 from which connections are made to the several lamps can be clipped on the upright 1.
