Abstract

583,587. Commutators for dynamoelectric machines. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Nov. 6, 1944, No. 21763. Convention date, Nov. 6, 1943. [Class 35] The V-rings clamping the segments of a commutator are mounted, one fixedly and the other slidably on a bush whose bore is threaded at one end to receive a nut which holds the slidable ring in position. In the form shown; the segments 2 are mounted between V-rings 4, 5, the former being fixed to the bush 7 and the latter being slidable thereon. A nut 10, threaded into the bush at 11, has a disc-spring part 14 to press on the ring 4 and at the same time to allow thermal expansion of the segments .
