Abstract

581,050. Windscreens for aircraft. MARTIN, J., and MARTIN-BAKER AIRCRAFT CO., Ltd. Aug. 7, 1944, No. 14998. [Class 4] The windsoreen 1 of an aeroplane cockpit is formed as a separate rigid structure secured to the fuselage at three individual points of attachment by means of feet 8, 13, at the centre and sides of the screen respectively, the gap between the lower edge of the screen and the fuselage being covered by a flexible metal fairing 16 secured in a recess 17 along the bottom edges of the windscreen frame members. At the point of attachment of the front foot 8 the fuselage is strengthened by a metal frame 12.
