579,489. Intestinal intubation apparatus. WILD, J. J. May 1, 1944, No. 8150. [Class 81 (ii)] Intestinal intubation apparatus consists of a flexible tube E provided with a thin walled flaccid rubber sack C loaded with a heavy fluent substance such as mercury D or very small metallic spheres and capable of adapting itself closely to the surface contours of the part of the body with which it is brought into contact, and thereby adapted by gravitational pressure on the mercury &c. to pass through a small opening in the body and thereupon to draw the rest of the apparatus after it. The sack may be permanently attached to the apparatus, or detachable thereupon. A suction or delivery orifice A is provided, and immediately above this is a plug B adapted to be inflated through tube F to form a closure between two sections of the intestine.
