Abstract
579,209. Horticultural cloches. DAVIS, W. J. April 3, 1944, Nos. 6134 and 14556. [Class 20 (i)] A cloche comprising two panes N which are adapted to be so inclined that they meet or nearly meet at their upper edges, or to be placed in a fully open position (as shown in Fig. 3), or to be placed with either or both panes in intermediate positions, is provided with interengaging wire members which are located within the cloche and are so formed that they allow the movable panes to be moved independently to and held in any of the positions mentioned. The wire members comprise two pieces I, Fig. 4, each of which is attached to one of the panes N and is hinged by a loop connection K. L. to an end of a piece J, Fig. 5, extending across the cloche. Kinks A, B in the pieces I engage, as required, with a loop M in the piece J, to hold :either or both panes in a partially open or fully open position. To give added height to the cloche the members N are supported in gutters G formed in wire members R. The members R also have channels T to support side walls P. Spikes S on the members R may be stuck in the ground. The first Provisional Specification describes a modified wire framework which allows only one roof member to be adjusted.
