Abstract

578,988. Thrust bearings. COLOMB, H. April 25, 1945, No. 10425. Convention date, June 27, 1944. [Class 12 (i)] In a spring thrust bearing of the pierced-jewel and cap type, the jewel bush 1 is made of resilient metal, e.g., hardened steel or a beryllium alloy. The pierced jewel 2 has a rounded edge 10 to its convex face and is pressed into the bush from below. The bush has flat and conical surfaces 5, 7 engaging flat and rounded surfaces 6, 8 on the mount 4. An annular groove 9 is provided in the bush above the jewel 2. The bearing is applied to clockwork and measuring apparatus.
