Abstract
578,672. Current and voltage measuring apparatus. PEACHEY, F. A., and BERRY, S. D. Feb. 29, 1944, No. 3726. [Class 37] [Also in Group XXXV] In an electrical limiter circuit comprising a shunt rectifier and fixed biassing means, additional means are provided whereby there is applied to the rectifier a bias which effectively opposes the fixed bias and whose value increases with increasing amplitude of the applied oscillators. The alternating voltage on the lines L, L is applied to the bridge-rectifier W1 and meter M, and is limited in amplitude by the inversely-connected rectifiers W2, W3 and fixed biassing means B1, B2. The additional rectifiers W4, W5, connected in the same sense as the corresponding rectifiers W2, W3, respectively, produce rectified potentials across the series-connected circuits comprising the resistances R1 R2 and shunt condensers C1, C2 respectively which effectively oppose the corresponding fixed biasing potentials provided by the means B1, B2 and which increase with increasing amplitude of the applied voltage.
