[Class 29] A cold storage chamber 14 is cooled by the circulation of air or other gas through a closed jacket surrounding all the walls of the chamber, the jacket being closed also around an access door 29 so that no cooling-air enters the storage space when the chamber is opened. Preferably the chamber has double walls 20, 22 and is spaced by battens 18 from an outer insulated casing 10, leaving a dead air space 16. Horizontal and vertical baffles 40, 44 provide a circuitous path for the jacket air which is circulated bv fan 36 over a cooler 30 within the jacket. Specification 484,668 is referred to.
