Abstract

578,130. Scythe handles. MOUNTFORD, P. March 25, 1944, No. 5580. [Class 61 (i)] A scythe has mounted on the shaft 1 an auxiliary arm 3 by means of a pair of clips 5 pivoted on a bolt 9 and a second pair of clips 11 pivoted by bolts 13 to a bar 10 such that by suitable manipulation the arm and its clips may be adjusted forwards and backwards, or about the axis of the shaft 1 to vary the lift of the point of the blade, or the angle of the arm to the shaft may be varied. Adjustable hand-grips 4 are provided on the shaft and arm. Specifications 437,074 and 575,261, [both. in Group I], are referred to.
