Abstract

576,952. Doors. WILKES & SONS, Ltd., S., and HALL, A. F. March 13, 1944, No. 4618. [Class 20 (iii)] In a sliding door supported from an overhead carrier bar having rollers engaging stationary tracks the carrier bar 8 is somewhat cranked and one of the rollers 10 is positioned at the bending point so that its axis is offset from those of the end rollers 9, 11 and this roller is in pressure engagement with the upper track 6 whilst the end rollers are in pressure engagement with the lower track 7 whereby rattling is prevented. The carrier bar may be in one piece of solid or hollow section or may comprise laterally spaced metal strips connected together with the rollers between them. The tracks are formed by the grooved limbs of a horizontal channel member 5 and the distance between them is such that the diametrically opposite portion of any roller in pressure engagement with one track is located without pressure contact by the other groove.
