Abstract
576,667. Service conduits. FISHKO, A. Feb. 2, 1944, No. 1940. [Class 20 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] In an arrangement for passing pipes through the floors of a building, a plate or pan-like member 32 is formed integrally with pipe fittings, which are subsequently connected to the pipe lines and adapted to close an opening in a structure. The pipe fittings which may comprise valves 36, 38, connecting pieces &c. are formed or cast in the member 32 with or without the insertion of a fitting in the mould. Fig. 3 shows a pipe shaft extending between two floors to each of which is fixed a plate 32, surrounded by an insulated wall and having a sloping surface to collect deposited moisture which is discharged at 34 to a drain pipe 35. The shaft is completed by a rear wall W, partitions H, V and a door 45 and contains sprinkler fire extinguishers 40, 41. In Fig. 10, a pan-like member 100 is supported by a wall 104 and spans two adjacent beams. It carries an intermediate beam 108 supported in a socket 109 and comprises two troughs which are connected to it. The intermediate beam may be I-sections and bolted to its side.
