Abstract

576,381. Displaying. DAVIS, H. V. April 26, 1944, No. 7786. [Class 3 (i)] [Also in Group XXX] Independent wheeled platforms S move in an endless path along rails 3, 4 so that goods displayed thereon may be viewed through windows W. The platforms are raised at one end 7 and lowered at the opposite end 8 by intermittently moving endless chains 6. The chains 6 bear against track guides and are mounted one at each corner of each well 7, 8 and each lateral pair of chains support between them a track rail 5 for receiving the platforms. The platforms S have two sets of running wheels 20, one set close together to suit the narrow gauges 3, 4 at the display windows, and the other set further apart to fit the wider gauge of the rails 5. Under and above each platform is a rack &c. engaged by motor-driven, spring-biassed pinions 23, 26 located respectively at the bottom of well 8 and the top of well 7, the chains 6 being powered by motors 11, 13 controlled by a switch gear 15 rotated by a motor 16. Switches 28a, 29 operated directly by the oncoming platforms effect further control of the timing.
