576,272. Casting machines. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd. May 3, 1943, No. 6992. Convention date, May 23, 1942. [Class 83 (i)] A centrifugal casting-machine of the kind comprising a number of moulds arranged radially on a table about the centre of rotation, has the moulds 29 each carried by a support 18 resting in a fixed cradle 16 and a hinged or removable cover 20 and closely fitted against a central reservoir 22 having a gate 25 leading to each mould. The moulds and reservoir may be made from reinforced baked refractory material and each may be built up of parts cemented together, e.g. at 24. The covers 20, when closed, are locked in position by toggle clamps 33. The reservoir may have a strainer 28. The machine shown is for casting solid artillery shells.
