Abstract

575,010. Window operating-apparatus. TRICO PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Dec. 21, 1943, No. 21404. Convention date, Jan. 2. [Class 20 (iii ] A window regulator of the kind comprising a pressure operated piston connected by a band &c. to the window and provided with locking means preventing lowering of the window by external force is provided with means for rendering the locking means inoperative when desired. The means shown consists of brake shoes 21 engaged with rods 22 through toggles 25 operated by movement of the piston member 12 when the window is pressed down by hand. Back supports 29 for the rods are connected by integral cross pieces 30. The rods have flats 33 so that when rotated into the position shown in Fig. 6, they are out of engagement with the brake shoes. The rods are rotated for this purpose by links 34, 35 and a control rod 36 having a handle 37, Figs. 3 and 4. Depressing the handle 37 also lowers the bar 5 on the window allowing enough space for insertion of the fingers above the glass for hand operation. Specification 565,137 is referred to.
