Abstract

A container for cigarettes is made by dipping a rectangular-sectioned mandrel into a solution of cellulose acetate or other plastic material. The mandrel may have corrugations on its base, to impart corrugations to the container for strengthening purposes.ALSO:An air and moisture proof container of the type made by dipping a mandrel or former into a solution of a plastic such as cellulose acetate is provided with a flanged or dished closure cap which lies wholly within the open end and has the external wall of the flange adhesively secured to the internal wall of the container. A scoring may be provided on the underside of the cap to permit a flap to be prized up to facilitate delivery of the contents. The container may be of cellulose derivative and the cap and body secured together by a solvent such as acetone, or an opening covered by a seal or label may be provided. A cylindrical container with conical closed end suitable for marketing petrol for pyrophoric lighters is described. The plastic may be tinted and the container may be used for any liquids which do not dissolve the material of the container.
