Abstract
573,418. Inductance measurements. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., TURNER, H. C., and FISHER, W. H. Sept. 24, 1943, No. 15695. [Class 37] A bridge for measuring the inductance and Q value of an inductor has its arms constituted by a resistor R2, condensers C2, C3, and the inductor RL in parallel with a condenser Cl. The bridge is supplied with AC from a source E, a detector D of such current being connected across the other diagonal. The condensers C1, C2 are gauged so that their ratio is constant. The condenser Cl is provided with a scale reading directly in terms of the required inductance. The Q valve is proportional to the capacitance of the condenser C3. For the examination of a succession of inductors which are closely similar and have a self-capacitance C4, the condensers Cl, C2 are ganged so that (C1-C4)/C2 is constant.
