[Class 87 (ii)] To dispense with a second press in a brickmaking or like machine, whilst producing highquality bricks by a pressing action of comparatively long duration, a single press is used which operates at half the speed at which the clots are moulded and is designed to press simultaneously twice the number of clots that are made in one operation of the moulding machine. For this purpose, the clots are discharged from the moulding machine to the press simultaneously from two moulds or two groups of moulds at the end of two successive movements of the mouldcarrying member. The invention is described with reference to a horizontal rotary table machine. A table 1 has moulds 2, each mould of a pair of moulds being spaced equidistantly from a radial line 4. The table revolves intermittently so that each mould 2 comes in turn under the charging point 3. A pusher 5 operates on two moulded clots ejected simultaneously from two adjacent moulds, once at the end of each two intermittent movements of the table, the clots being pushed into moulds 7 in a press 6 operating at the same speed as the ejecting mechanism. The pressed bricks are ejected from the press by the incoming clots. The pusher may have projecting arms provided with resilient heads which trim the pressed bricks.
