Abstract

The adhesive material described in the parent Specification consisting of copal, carnauba or Brazilian palm wax and castor oil is modified by using as solvent in place of castor oil, either non-drying unsaturated fatty acids containing more than 10 carbon atoms, mono- or diglycerides or mono-esters of glycol or mono- or diesters of diglycol with these fatty acids, oleyl alcohol, or methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl or amyl esters of ricinoleic acid. Non-drying fatty oil such as olive oil may also be added. The copal may be diluted with rosin, and the wax replaced by or mixed with Ouricoury wax, or other wax having a melting-point above 65 DEG C., e.g. Candelilla wax.
