Abstract

572,116. Golf clubs. BANCROFT, T., and BLACKBURN, N. W. G. Jan. 19, 1944, No. 1072. [Class 132 (ii)] The head of a golf club may be rotated to vary the angle of loft by means of an element slidable on a key-way under control of an element which may be rotated manually externally of the head. As shown, the adjustment is effected by rotating a pinion 14 by means of a coin slot 17 located either in the striking face of the club-head or at the rear. The pinion gears with a sleeve 8 slidable on splines 4, and the sliding movement causes rotation of the club head by means of helical splines 9 engaging corresponding splines in the club head. A graduated scale adjacent the cam slot 17 facilitates setting of the head.
