Abstract

570,306. Conveyers. REDLER CONVEYORS. Ltd., and BAKER, J. M. Sept. 15, 1943, No. 15155. [Class 78 (i)] A conveyer for distributing granular material comprises a rotary ring-shaped trough having a discharge opening in its, bottom, and a flighted conveyer member disposed within the trough and movable in the same direction but at a faster speed. The conveyer is shown in Fig. 2 as forming part of a system for. transferring fuel from a hopper 22 to a series of shoots 11 arranged around the exterior of a cylindrical furnace 10. An elevator 21 raises the fuel to a shoot 20 which delivers it to the trough 25. The trough is rotatable within a casing 14 which surmounts the shoots 11. Flight members 26 carried by a ring 27 driven at a speed higher than that of the trough carry 'the fuel to the discharge opening in the trough.
