[Class 40 (v)] A midget radio receiver comprises a casing in which are removably assembled the valve or valves and other circuit elements connected to a plug, socket, &c. closely associated with the casing for connecting the receiver to a source of electric supply, the whole assembly being adapted to be completely suspended by the supply socket. The Specification describes a four-valve receiver having the components mounted in a ventilated casing i having a bayonet plug at one end for supporting the receiver when plugged into a lighting socket, and a socket at the other end for supporting a lamp k which may form a load resistance.in series with the valve filaments or heaters. Alternatively a separate load resistance may be furnished, which may be in the form of a lampshade made of resistance mat. One end of the casing supports a loudspeaker fed by output transformer g, and the other circuit components are arranged at the other end of the casing. In between are the valves bl, v2, which each comprise multiple electrode assemblies. A relay h serves for switching in alternative tuning elements on successively making and breaking the supply circuit by means of the normal electric light switch. The set may be' suspended from a pendant or supported on a table lamp, and a short length of flex may be provided between the supply plug and the casing.
