Abstract
569,860. Brakes for perambulators. HAIGH, N. C. March 28, 1944, No. 12684. [Class 103 (i)] [Also in Group XXXII] Two collapsable linkwork members one on each side of the vehicle, each carry a foot G bolted to one end of a rigid member to the other end of which are rigidly attached two bars each having a link pivoted to its outer end, the other ends of these links being pivoted at D and E respectively to a plate A rigidly connected to the vehicle near the inner side of a wheel. A stop J on the plate engaged by one of the links maintains each linkwork member under load in the position of use shown ; the collapsed position shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1 is obtained by lifting up the connecting cross-bar M shown in plan, Fig. 2, springs N being provided to keep the linkwork folded or to maintain stability of the extended linkwork when unloaded.
