568,286. Ventilating aircraft and other enclosures. BOULTON PAUL AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and NORTH, J. D. Dec. 15, 1939, No. 32296. [Class 137] A base plate 5 with a hole 8 therein is secured to the turret cupola of aircraft, or to another enclosure, the hole 8 registering with an opening 2 in the wall of the turret or enclosure, and a lenticular disc 3 is arranged on supports 4 at a distance from the hole so that an air passage of venturi form is provided in all directions diametrically of the disc. The thickness of the disc at its centre is approximately one-fifth of its diameter which is two or three times the width of the hole 2. The ventilating hole 2 may be connected by a conduit to a container for empty cartridge cases which is connected in an airtight manner with the discharge opening in the breech casing of a gun.
