Abstract

568,031. Hydraulic transmission of power. AKTIEBOLAGET TELEPAR. Sept. 8, 1943, No. 14756. Convention date, Sept. 23, 1942. [Class 69 (ii)] A regulating valve or valves 35, 40 in the exhaust line from a hydraulic motor 25 controlled by a valve 3, creates a back pressure which acts on a spring-loaded piston 28 controlling a pump byepass valve 29, whereby a variable quantity of pressure liquid is returned to the tank 17. The throttle valves 35, 40 are in parallel and manually adjustable. The distributing valve 3 is operated by the machine to assume five positions of adjustment in which it is held by a spring-loaded pin 6. In the first position, in which the valve is set by a hand lever 9, both throttles are byepassed and valve 29 remains closed so that the motor is driven at maximum speed. In the next position, both throttles are effective and the speed falls ; a further reduction being effected in the next position when only one throttle 35 is effective. Further movement of the control valve cuts off the exhaust and the byepass valve opens to its full extent, thereby bringing the motor to rest. In the final position of the control valve, both throttles are byepassed and the motor reversed.
