[Class 130] A pipe or a cigar or cigarette holder comprises a metal bowl a surrounded by the atmosphere and connected by a heat-insulating washer d to a metal condenser bowl or chamber b, an intermediate bowl c of heat-insulating material being arranged to direct the smoke over the surface of the bowl b. In one form, Fig. 1, the bowl a is provided with cooling fins and the smoke passes through openings f, e in the bowls a, c. In modifications: (1) the bowl a is surrounded by an integral or other metal jacket with outlets for hot air ; (2) the bowl a is provided with a cover i, Fig. 3, and with openings m below the cover for the entry of air from within a metal jacket k; (3) the intermediate bowl c is provided, with slits p, Fig. 4, for the passage of smoke and to facilitate its springing into position ; (4) finger grips are provided on one or more of the bowls a; b, c; (5) a jacket k<1> with vertical ribs j is slipped over the bowl a, Figs. 7 and 8, or a coned jacket is slipped over vertical, horizontal, helical or other ribs on the bowl a; (6) a water jacket is provided around the bowl a ; (7) the application to a cigarette holder is shown in Fig. 13.
