Abstract

300,926. Alland, M. May 16, 1927. Tobacco pipes and cigar and cigarette holders.-A water-receptacle through which the smoke has to pass is mounted in unitary relation with the pipe &c. A plug 8 in the lower end of the bowl 2, is formed with an internal flange 11 from which depends a tube 10 into the water receptacle 22 attached to the lower end of the belt 19. The plug 8 is also threaded for engagement with a downwardly tapering cap 14 having an undercut flange into which is snapped a perforated disc 18. A rod 18a extends from the disc 18 through and beyond the tube 10. The disc may thereby be readily released for cleaning purposes. A lateral opening 25 allows the smoke to pass into the stem 3. In a modification the plug 8 is tapered, and the water-receptacle screws on a liner separate from the plug and fixed in the lower end of the bowl, or directly on to the bowl itself.
