Abstract
566,899. Fire-extinguishers. WARREN, S. F. July 2, 1943, No. 10746. [Class 47 (ii)] Breakable sealing means, such as a thin wire 15 with the ends secured in a lead seal or the like 16, are employed to interlink a fireextinguisher 1 of the pump type and its supporting bracket 4, to give a visual indication of interference with the extinguisher. The bracket may have a member 13 which prevents the filling plug 2 of the extinguisher from being removed while the extinguisher is in the bracket, and the sealing wire 15 may pass through an aperture 14 in this member. Alternatively, the wire 15 may pass through an aperture in any other part of the bracket or in the filling plug or be looped around the bottom of the U-shaped portion of the bracket. The reciprocable pump by which the extinguishing fluid is ejected from the container is operated by a handle 3.
