Abstract

566,878. Cutting plaster &c. bandages. TALLEY, H. A. E., and JAMES, N. R. July 12, 1943, No. 11246. [Class 81 (ii)] Power-driven means for cutting and removing plaster &c. bandages comprises a casing C and a circular saw or disc A mounted therein, driven by pawl-and-ratchet means E, D actuated by a piston H and piston-rod F operated by compressed air. The pawl E is pivotally attached to the piston-rod F which is moved outwardly by compressed air admitted at K by the manipulation of a valve L. When the piston passes the port M compressed air escapes from the cylinder and the piston is returned by the spring J. The exhaust air is delivered by the passage N to the vicinity of the safety portion R of the casing C so to remove dust &c. from the material being cut.
