Abstract

565,192. Anchor nuts. AVON DIECASTING CO., Ltd., and WALTERS, S. A. March 26, 1943, No. 4895. [Class 89 (i)] An anchor nut comprises a cage that completely encloses the nut so that separation is imposs-' ible even before the cage is attached to the structural member. The base having the perforated lugs 11 for attachment to the member has also a flange 15 defining a clearance hole for the bolt and supporting the nut 13 in a loosely fitting polygonal boss 17 formed with a circular exterior. The upper part of the boss has a thinner extension 18, that, after insertion of the nut, is flanged inwardly retaining the nut with float in all directions. The cage is die cast preferably from zinc, but may be moulded in any thermosetting or thermoplastic material.
