687,180. Making nuts. G.K.N. GROUP SERVICES, Ltd. Oct. 16, 1951 [Oct. 19, 1950], No. 25434/50. Class 83 (ii). [Also in Group XXV] Anchor nuts of the kind having a base flange or ears for securing to a support have the flange &c. blanked and punched at 14, Fig. 4, from plate stock with embossed welding projections 16 for securing the nut by resistance welding. When the nut is countersunk at 17, Fig. 6, for a lead-in for the bolt, the projections are embossed in a stamped conical flange. In another form, the hole 14 in the plate is countersunk after welding to provide a lead-in.
