Abstract

564,369. Hot closets. UNITED STATES HOFFMAN MACHINERY CORPORATION. March 20, 1943, No. 4565. Convention date, March 7, 1942. [Class 34 (i)] [Also in Groups VIII and XXIII] Relates to apparatus for cleaning and finishing coats and like garments comprising a metal form 16 covered by a porous bag 75 with arms 78 over which the garment is placed to allow steam and hot air to be blown outwardly through the garment. The shoulders of the garment are tied to adjustable arms 72 on levers 56 pivoted to the top of the body of the frame. The open bottom of'the bag is tied around the lower part of the frame. When in position over the bag, the front of the garment is held between vertically adjustable plates 94 pressed together by springs. The frame is mounted on a casing 11 containing a fan 12 which draws air through a steam - heated radiator 17 and forces it into the bag through a duct 14 provided with a damper operated by a lever 45. Steam is supplied .to the bag through apertures in a nozzle under the control of a pedal-operated valve.
