Abstract

564,145. Portable buildings. BEAN, A. W. April 19, 1943, No. 6235. [Class 20 (i). A portable building particularly applicable to glasshouses built up of precast members as described in Specification 564,143 has the vertical member 3 supporting the horizontal ridge member 1, 2 made of concrete with a shaped upper end 8 and a bifurcated lower end 6 adapted to straddle a horizontal beam 4, one lip of the bifurcated portion being longer than the other to receive a bolt 7. The sides of the beam 4 are tapered downwardly and'the portion of the support between the lips of the bifurcation is correspondingly shaped to fit the beam. The abutting ends of the ridge member are reduced in depth and secured to the support by bolts 9, 10 projecting from the upper end of the support.
