562,477. Valves. KIGASS, Ltd., and HAERLE, H. R. Oct. 20, 1942, No. 14668. [Class 1:35J A multiple-way valve device, particularly adapted for association with the fuel tanks of aircraft, armoured vehicles, or sludge tanks, has a number of inlets adapted to be coupled to one or more outlets. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the bottom of a casing 1 is fitted with an outlet connection 29 and a series of inlet connections 6. Each connection comprises a detachable unit 5 housing a lift valve member 8 pressed against a seat 7 by a spring 9. A spindle 14 rotatably mounted in a detachable cover 3 and a bearing 16 in the base is provided with a face cam adapted to engage and depress successively the valve spindles 11. The lobe of the cam has a depression adapted to locate the cam in position over the spindles. Externally the spindle carries a sprocket 15 connected by a chain with a similar sprocket rotatable on a fixed spindle by a hand wheel. One end of a spring finger secured to the spindle co-operates with markings on the hand wheel while the other end snaps into locking recesses in the hub of the hand wheel. The spindle 14 may be fitted with a lever, knob or handle. According to the Provisional Specification the remotely situated sprocket may be rotated by an electric motor. The cam may be arranged outside the casing and the valve spindles fitted with leakage preventing diaphragms. Also the valves may be arranged radially and actuated by a peripheral cam or eccentric.
