[Class 20 (iii)] In order that a window sash 15, which is pivoted about horizontal pins 1, may be pressed into close engagement 'with the frame 11 I when closed it is, at the time of closing moved substantially vertically in its own plane and also in a plane at. right angles thereto. This may be effected by means such as an espagnolette lock 4 a stud 6 of which coacts with cam surfaces 8, 9 arranged at right angles to each other in a fitting 7. The bear ing brackets 2 secured to the sash are. shaped to assist in this guiding action. The upper edge of the sash is provided with a fillet 13 which enters a corresponding groove 12 in the frame. Portions or the whole of the fillet may be replaced by rollers-.
