Abstract

562,219. Cabin lights. PATE, G. Feb. 2, 1943, No. 1717. [Class 113 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] The main frame 20 of a ship's scuttle or side-light is constituted as a mild steel drop forging stamped from the solid. The illuminator frame 21 and the deadlight 22 may also be mild steel drop forgings. In the form shown, the deadlight 22 pivots about hinge lugs 27 in two different positions so that it can close on the illuminator frame 21 as shown, or direct on the fixed frame 20 when the frame 21 is open. The frame 20 is spigoted and welded into an opening in the ship's plating. In a modification, Figs. 5-7 (not shown), the main frame is bolted to the plating.
