Abstract
562,099. Trailer vehicles. AERO ENGINES, Ltd.; and HALLIDAY, G. F. Nov. 5, 1942, No. 15629. [Class 108 (i)] A trailer, for carrying bar stock and loads such as timber and intended for use with elevating trucks such as described in Specification 534,816, has its fore-part, forming a stillage, connected to its rear part by a boom whose forward end connected to the stillage portion, is capable of universal movement of limited amount. In the elevation, Fig. 1, the boom 19 is shown with its rear end carried on a structure mounted on a pair of wheels 23 and with its forward end connected through a turn-table to the stillage portion 1 of the trailer provided with four legs 3, the platform 41 of an elevating truck being shown in position for supporting the stillage portion 1 and retaining it in position by pivoted sprags 42, 43. The boom 19 comprises two telescoping parts 20, 21, the inner part 20 being rotatable in the tubular outer part 21 and secured to a cross-member 18 transversely pivoted to the upper part of the turn-table. Means, operated by a handle 36, are provided for locking the boom at the required extension.
