Abstract
Rubber hydrochloride films, particularly where used with electrical conductors or other metallic parts are stabilized by mixing, e.g. up to 10 per cent of a crystalline or resinous condensation product of a phenol with formaldehyde &c. and morpholine to retard the evolution of hydrochloric acid form plasticized or unplasticized films. The phenol used may be ordinary phenol, resorcinol, m-cresol or catechol. There may be equal molecular proportions of formaldehyde and morpholine, and 1 to 3 mols. of each to 1 of resorcinol.ALSO:Rubber hydrochloride films, particularly where used with electrical conductors or other metallic parts, are stabilized by mixing, e.g. up to 10 per cent of a crystalline or resinous condensation product of a phenol with formaldehyde &c. and morpholine to retard the evolution of hydrochloric acid from plasticized or unplasticized films.
