[Classes 75 (iii) and 75 (iv)] The casing of an incandescent spot lamp 15 comprises outer and inner groups of longitudinally extending channel members 20, 21, the channels of one group being disposed with their adjacent legs between the legs of the channels of the other group so as to permit adequate ventilation while preventing the escape of light. The channel members may be spot welded at their ends to flexible supporting bands 30, 31; 32, 33 which are then secured to front and rear supporting rings 22, 23 on the casing. The rear end closure 2 of the casing comprises a dished cap 34 spot welded to the ring 23 and formed with ventilating apertures 35 behind a light baffle 36. The ring 23 may be formed with a radially extending annular member 38 to prevent the escape of reflected light. The front ring 23 is fitted with a lens mounting 3. The lamp 15 is supported in front of a reflector 16 on a socket 17 electrically connected with a line switch 18. Rain water caught in channel members 20, 21 passes to spaces 47, 48 between the ends of the members and the rings 22, 23 and drains into a housing 40 at the bottom of the casing and escapes by holes 49, 50. Rain water entering the apertures 35 drains through openings 52, 53 in the flange 26 of the ring 23. The casing is preferably mounted for rotation about horizontal and vertical arcs by means of a yoke 4 having a downwardly extending pivot 6 inserted in a lamp standard or a hand rail 7. The pivot portion may be grooved at 8 to receive a set screw and apertured to receive a cotter key 9.
