Abstract
560,972. Automatic regulation. FERRANTI, Ltd., and NORRIS, E. D. T. Dec. 21, 1942, No. 18097. [Class 38 (iv] The voltage across an electromagnetic apparatus, for example a voltage regulating relay as described in Specification 465,058, is caused to rise with increase of the frequency of the current source, and vice versa, in order to render its excitation current independent of small frequency changes. The apparatus is connected in parallel'with a condenser whereby the combined impedance is capacitative at all relevant frequencies and the combination is connected to the source of alternating current through an impedance which is resonant at the normal frequency and consists of an inductance in series with a condenser. The invention is applicable to solenoids, chokes, and other electromagnetic apparatus.
