560,682. Cycle &c. pedals. PHILLIPS & CO., Ltd., J. A. and FIELD, W. Oct. 13, 1942, No. 14361. [Class 136 (ii)] The tread surfaces on each face of a metal pedal for cycles &c. are formed as integral flanges i or extensions of the longitudinal edges of the blanks forming the side plates h and the surface of each flange which will. be outermost when the flange is bent to form the tread, is pressed with ribs or projections j which form friction surfaces for the treads. The flanges may extend over the full length of the side plates or may be in two parts and both the flanges and the side plates may be apertured to permit the escape of dirt &c. and for lightening purposes.
