531,809. Cycle pedals. PHILLIPS & CO., Ltd., J. A., and BOULSTRIDGE, T. J. Aug. 3, 1939, No. 22481. [Class 136 (ii)] In a pedal for cycles &c. the pedal bars are made of a light metal or a light metal alloy, such as that known under the Registered Trade Mark " Hiduminium," and edging strips or plates f of hard metal (e.g. steel) 'are secured on the side bars e which are formed with light metal projections k adapted to be passed through holes in depressed (e.g. downwardly inclined) parts i formed on the strips or plates f and lying below the wearing surface thereof, the projections k being then riveted over. The central horizontal parts of the plates f are also apertured to receive projections j on the side bars e. The strips f may be serrated or otherwise provided with friction surfaces.
