560,447. Suspending &c. devices. MALCOLM, Ltd., R., and LOBELLE, M. J. O. Jan. 13, 1943, No. 659. [Class 4] [Also in Group XXXII] A towing or suspending and releasing device of the general type described in Specifications 548,203 and 551,204 and having a pivoted load-carrying claw 9 retained by a trigger 15, pivoted at 16 and engaging a nose of the claw 9 in a recess, and which is held in operative position by toggle-links 17, 18, has releasing means in the form of a pivoted lever 24, to which is pivoted a curved toggle-breaking link 22 connected to the pivot 20 between the toggle-links. The line joining the centres of the pivots of link 22 passes over the centre of the axis 25 of the lever 24 when the parts move into the load-taking position. The above parts are mainly enclosed between pairs of plates 5, with reinforcing plates 6 having a distance piece 7 between them.
